Mini reflections on the Sunday scripture readings designed for persons on the
run. “Faith Book” is also brief enough to be posted in the Sunday parish
bulletins people take home.
From
today’s Gospel reading:
Jesus said to his disciples...
“No one has greater love than this,
to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”
Reflection:
Love is one commandment with many faces, many opportunities to put it into
practice. If there is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for a friend,
then we can begin by reflecting on what part of our lives must we “lay down” for
the sake of another?
So,
we ask ourselves:
-
What prejudice, angry feelings and grudges must I lay down
out of love for my sisters and brothers?
-
How willing am I to “lay down” my free time when another has
need?
